Christina Berkshire, circa 1988

Born in Louisiana but a native of Washington state, Christina Berkshire is a 21 year-old graphics student. She is now living in North Augusta, South Carolina with her husband AJ, of Berkshire Guitars, and her cat Maximus. The University of South Carolina at Aiken claims her as a junior student this year, though the years she’s spent in college (including a year at the Northwest College of Art) are only a part of her artistic education. Thanks to the gift camera her parents gave her, her skill for photography has grown since she was in seventh grade. Several teachers fueled her passions and inspired her to push her art in many directions. David Friedle, Shane Sliva, the late Deborah Munson, Patricia Robertson,Julius Finley, Al Beyer, Michael Fowler and Ginny Southworth have all helped Christina along the way and deserve a credit here for being great artistic teachers. So many others have encouraged her along the way and all of their inspiration can be found in her paintings, graphics, photography and writing.

Christina’s philosophy on graphic design as well as any commercialized art form is thatĀ  designers are doing customers a service and should deliver them the best possible product. This product is not a tangible one, though the designs themselves may be a physical object. What designers give their customers is an improvement to the visual aesthetics of their own world . In the case of advertising photography and illustration (see Berkshireguitars.com for an example of her more business-oriented photographs), she wants to help her clients provide the same experience for their own customers.

Fees for her service are reasonable for the product she gives, which have been praised as being professional quality by many despite still being in school. She provides excellent custom work forĀ  pretty much anything you can think up! Whether it’s a photo session for your engagement, a logo for your business, a commissioned painting… really, anything, feel free to call or send an email.
