A few weeks ago in my commercial photography class we were assigned to do an “urban portrait.” My lovely husband AJ, co-owner of Berkshire Guitars, posed for me in downtown Augusta, GA. All of them were taken within a two-block radius before we got too cold and went on home.We had good timing too, because a rainstorm hit a few minutes after we got back in the car.

I got my hands on an amazing trench coat today at Goodwill. It fits right alongside my two others with furry collars, which I think is quickly becoming an obsession. To celebrate, I recruited my friend Caitlin to model it for me, which gave her a chance to add some photos to a growing portfolio.

The Photography Cave

I love taking photography courses. This last semester at USC Aiken I was enrolled in the Photography 101 course, which is taught by Ginny Southworth. She focused on the basics of photography, as well as the darkroom. I had been aching to work in the darkroom since my senior year in high school when my art teacher Patricia Robertson showed me all the inner workings of the photographer’s cave. I spent many lunch hours there (as well as aerobics class!). So, for you to peruse, are the photos and art pieces I’ve created in a darkroom.
